The Community of Hungarians Daruvar was founded on the 18th of April 1995. in Daruvar, in the Bjelovar-bilogora County.
The Community has about 200 members, one third of which are residents of Daruvar and the remaining members are from surrounding villages Dežanovac, Kreštelovac, Trojeglava, Goveđe Polje, Končanica and Maslenjača. The Community often organizes trips to spent time together, learn and meet Hungarian regions. The work of the Community takes place in the area of Bjelovar-bilogora County, and if it will be necessary there is a possibility to extend activities to the entire Croatian territory.
The basic principles of the Community are voluntarism, equality, initiative, openness to suggestions, adoption and enforcement of decisions, and it is always open to all forms of cooperation.
